Author Cassandra L. Thompson

Gothic horror writer Cassandra L. Thompson has been creating stories since she got her grubby little hands around a pen. When she is not busy managing a house full of feral children (human and canine) with her beloved husband, you can find her wandering around cemeteries, taking pictures of abandoned things, or in the library doing research on her latest obsession. She has a B.A. in History and a MLIS, but she ignores her degrees to write and run Quill & Crow Publishing House, both of which require copious amounts of coffee and Crows.

A gorgeous collection of ghastly things!

I can't emphasize enough how much I loved this book! I've always been a huge fan of very short stories, and these made my horror-loving heart so happy. There was something to represent nearly every horror theme I have ever appreciated, down to the eerie nature of ice cream trucks, and the terrible things from childhood I always feared lived in the darkness. Definitely don't skip this!

Delightfully Disturbing

Reading through this little book, I never knew what to expect from one page to another. Each story is short enough to read in a few minutes, yet leaves a lasting, unsettling impression. Without giving too much away, you'll never think of ice cream or lemonade the same way again.

A must for any horror fan!

Absolutely brilliant! Small they might be, but these are some of the most twisted, unhinged horror stories I've ever read. Delicious in a very dark way. My Little Black Book of Horror manages to pack one hell of punch within its 104 pages!

Of the nineteen bite-sized horror delights in this book, I think Ice Cream was my favourite. An absolutely horrifying premise that makes you think twice about where your dairy products are ACTUALLY coming from..

A must for any horror fan!

Beautifully scratches the itch!

In "My Little Black Book of Horror", Cassandra L. Thompson weaves terrifying vignettes that stick like a splinter in the mind and demonstrates a masterful understanding of the short horror genre. No story overstays its welcome, and each fully captures the emotional impact of the scenarios in which these poor characters find themselves. Like an outstanding musical album, every story offers a fresh take and distinct flavor without violating the promise of the premise.
This lovely little book has been a source of genuine inspiration for me for the last few weeks. I find myself reaching for it in place of my phone most days for another quick hit of scary. The perfect scratch for a horror itch. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love this author's books

I love the way Cassandra L. Thompson writes. I haven't read another author since Anne Rice that can make me feel as though I really know the characters in a book. It's hard for me to explain but it's less like reading a story and more like listening to a friend catch me up on everything that's happened since we last spoke. If you love gothic stories with a supernatural bite to them then Cassandra's books are not to be missed. The stories in this book are smaller than some of her others but still contain the soul that I have come to expect from her writing
